K-pop (Korean: 가요, Gayo) (an abbreviation of Korean pop or Korean mainstream music) is a musical genre consisting of electropop, hip hop, pop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers.Through the presence of Facebook fan pages, availability on iTunes, Twitter profiles, and music videos on YouTube, the ability of K-pop to reach a previously inaccessible audience via the Internet is driving a paradigm shift in the exposure and popularity of the genre.

South Korea is today one of the largest producers of contemporary music in Asia-Pacific. Their popular culture is today serving as a major driver of contemporary culture all across the Pacific Rim, with special reference to mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam. The K-pop genre is currently moving towards a position in the region, similar to that enjoyed by American music in Europe and the West, up until the 1990's.

now, i will tell you about 2PM one of the famous k-pop artist.

2PM’s “Hands Up Asia Tour” Creates 60 Billion Won Worth of Economic Value
2PM’sHands Up Asia Tour 2011-2012” came to an end on March 11 in Hong Kong. Since September 2011, the tour visited eight countries for 10 total concerts, and sold out all events for a record-high crowd in 2PM’s concert tour history.
CJ E&M, the main organizer of this concert tour, said, “Although the base region for K-Pop is the Asian market, there are not a lot of artists who can completely sell out 10 concerts in eight different countries over a six month period.”
“The economic impact of this concert tour is estimated to be 60 billion won ($53 million USD). It’s not just the album and ticket sales, but sponsorship and corporate marketing, local promotions, and a lot of other factors. Plus, you must take into account that it helped stabilize K-Pop and Hallyu in the region,” CJ E&M added.
JYP Entertainment commented on the success of 2PM’s world tour by saying, “We are thankful to the fans for helping us achieve this success. It feels good to be able to contribute to the expansion of K-Pop artists to other Asian countries. We’d like to thank our Korean fans for waiting for us during the Asian Tour and we’ll return the love by resuming the Korean activities soon.”

[M/V] 2PM "HANDS UP(East4A mix)" from HANDS UP

2nd album of 2PM

Hands Up (album)
Hands Up is the second studio album by South Korean boy band, 2PM. The album was released in digital format on June 20, 2011 and the physical format on June 21, 2011 also the special limited edition on June 23, 2011. The Japanese edition of the album include a 24-page photobook.
Their title track “Hands Up” is 2PM’s first “club track,” according to JYP Entertainment. The strong electronic beat and powerful base, combined with the repeating melody will give you an addicting sound. It embodies 2PM’s “animal-idol” personality and their beastly image, and the surprising narration by Wonder Girls’ Sohee adds a different taste to the overall tone.
In particular, this album comes with self-composed tracks by Junho and Junsu. Junho’s “Give It to Me” is a rhythmical yet soft track, while Junsu’s “Hot” is a more direct and powerful song.

A teaser for the music video of "Hands Up", the lead single of their album, was released in June 14, 2011 on the 2PM's official YouTube account. The full music video was released in June 20, 2011 along with the album.
